Every Day is Dirt Day!

Every day is Earth Day for this compassionate conservative Christian! Did you know the dirt beneath your feet process the nutrients that feed us? And that it's one of the most bio-diverse organisms on Earth? And it's what YHWH breathed into to create US! 

(And, with an estimated 100 trillion good bacteria inside us, we seem to remain incredibly bio-diverse with a majority of our weight taken up by those little friendly critters that help make us who we are!)

And that's why I LOVE this video about the ecology of the soil. Didn't previously know, but apparently we feed the soil and it digests the nutrients and makes them available for the plants! The earth beneath our feet is the most complex organism... on Earth!

I'm convinced one of the things that will set the sons and daughters of YHWH apart is their love of the "land" (1,489 references in the KJV - "earth" referenced 906 times!).

And keep in mind.. the God we love to trust, worship, gaze into the face of? He's just. In fact, I boast proudly of the fact! He's Just, Merciful and Righteous! (Jer.9:24) And He will have his way. He will remove everything that hinders love! And one of those things that hinders... is our treatment of the Earth!

Examine the following passage (WEBME version)... especially verse 18

Revelation 11:11-19

11 After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them.

12 I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” They went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies saw them.

13 In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly.

15 The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Messiah. He will reign forever and ever!

16 The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God’s throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God,

17 saying: “We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power, and reigned.

18 The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the holy ones, and those who fear your name, to the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth.

19 God’s temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.

Wired for Sound

So we've arrived. The world is wired for sound.. and light.

The internet has successfully connected every nation so that, potentially, you or I could communicate effectively with someone half a planet away and remote from most modern facilities. This is a miracle, indeed! We can (and I have, on several occasions) make good, lasting friendship with people who dwell in sunlight while I am sleeping under the moon!

What is our aim, tho? Are we aiming at an open, effective (relevant to the hearer), compassionate communication which sparks eternal fire between souls? or at objects that writhe in the slime of garbage refuse with our time spent on the internet?

The Sacred Book granted by the Hebrew people ("old" and new testaments together) becomes more and more relevant as we see through our studies in science, economics, sociology, biology (!), archeology, politics (Declaration!).. that YHWH has not only NOT abandoned us to our own vain imaginations, but He has already ignited the fire of love for us to carry to each other graciously and lavishly... through the wires.

Yeshua, light up our wires.

So. Tonight we will have a distortion of leadership address the nation with a string of untruths unimaginable by our forebearers.

But the tricky part is really and truly de-toxifying those tiny little badboys and/or getting them the juice or food they actually need to turn that immune system of yours back on!

Vision -> Hope -> Faith -> SUBSTANCE/EVIDENCE!

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1 KJV)

Hope is a part of it, but it's definitely not the END! Evidence is where we're all headed! It's the goal of our experience - the substance and evidence of heaven invading our here and now!

And VISION is what starts the whole perpetual motion machine running!

Just this morning, my wife, Michelle, and I were speaking to one another about the spiritual history of the state of Missouri... as one of the slave states of the USA... a "compromise" state forsaken by the federal Senate during the "Tallmadge Amendment" sought to free the generations.

And we spoke of the necessary grace to see Kansas City united between East and West, blacks and whites TODAY.

I want to be like this patriarchal man when I "grow up" - walking in this level of grace and service.
